THERE have been two more deaths and 492 more coronavirus cases recorded over the weekend, official figures show.

A total of 40,945 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Dudley when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on today (Monday September 20), up from 40,453 on Friday.

The rate of infection in Dudley now stands at 12,702 cases per 100,000 people, higher than the England average of 11,272.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 94,147 over the period, to 7,465,448.

There were also two more coronavirus deaths recorded over the weekend in Dudley.

The dashboard shows 814 people had died in the area by September 20 (Monday) – up from 812 on Friday.

It means there have been three deaths in the past week, which is a decrease on six the previous week.

They were among 14,282 deaths recorded across the West Midlands.

The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Dudley.
