TWO Halesowen shops have joined forces for a Peaky-Blinders inspired photo shoot.

Dancer's Suit and Hire and Option's Barbers wanted to do something a bit different to raise their profiles.

They decided on the Peaky-Blinders theme as the Black Country Museum has been holding themed events on the smash hit drama starring Cillian Murphy, which is set in the 1920s.

Dave Dancer, manager of Dancers and Dancer's staff member Rob Moody got into their finest threads and donned their flat caps for the shoot, collaborating the talents of Option's Barbers who provided the Peaky Blinder haircuts and Dancer's suits, along with borrowing Michael Dancer's vintage classic car.

Maxine Humphries, who owns Option's Barbers on High Street, said: "We wanted to join forces as two local businesses in the town and show what we sell and do.

"I cut Dave Dancer's hair.

"We are both long standing well established independent businesses and we agreed during a chat one day that it would be a good idea to do a joint campaign showcasing that we may be struggling in these present times of covid but Halesowen Town as a community are willing to stand together and support each other."

Mum-of-one Maxine took over the barbers, which has been in the town for more than thirty years, in 2019.

Family-run clothing shop Dancers, which began life as a boot shop back in 1880 - is now run by the fourth and fifth generations of the Dancer family.

The shop in Peckingham Street, which has become synonymous with the High Street in Halesowen, was crowned winner of the Legacy Award at The Small Awards 2020, which recognise small businesses.

Peaky Blinders is expected back on our screens in 2022, with season six.
