BYSTANDERS stepped in to help a man found fighting for life in Halesowen.

Medics and police raced to the scene on Furnace Hill on Saturday (October 16) at around 4.23pm.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said bystanders were performing CPR on the man, who was in a critical condition after suffering a medical emergency.

They said: “We were called at 4:23pm on Saturday to reports of a medical emergency in Furnace Hill, Halesowen.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car attended the scene.

"On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition with bystander CPR already in progress.

"Staff took over in administering advanced life support at the scene with treatment continuing en route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.”

No further updates have been given on the man's condition.
