DISCOUNT supermarket Lidl has said it has not lined up a site to open a store in Quinton.
Rumours had been circulating on social media that Lidl was set to open a store on the former Acorn Used Car Centre on Hagley Road West.
But the firm has confirmed it is not.
A spokesman said: "Whilst Quinton is an area of interest to us, we don't currently have anything in the pipeline."
The supermarket has announced ambitious plans to develop 1,000 new stores by the end of 2023.
Areas it is looking at include Dudley, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge, Lye, Sedgley, Oldbury and Quinton.
The list of locations for new stores is aimed at landowners and freeholders with suitable sites who are interested in exploring opportunities with Lidl.
The discounter is seeking prominent sites which are easily accessible.
