MARY Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge is inviting people to remember their loved ones at its Tree of Light ceremonies this year.

The hospice will be offering two opportunities for the community to think of friends and relatives who have passed away.

The first event will be held in the hospice grounds on Saturday November 20 at 5pm.

It will include the annual switching on of the tree lights and refreshments will be available.

A repeat of the service will be held on Wednesday November 24, at 7pm, at St Mary’s Church, Oldswinford.

Guests will be invited to view the Tree of Light afterwards and enjoy refreshments at the hospice.

Keith Judson, spiritual care coordinator at the hospice, said: “Special poems or readings, which may be included in the services, should be sent to myself by November 13 at Music will be provided by Black Country Brass, the Mary Stevens Hospice Choir and soloist Emily Carew-Gibbs.

"Through music, poetry, quiet reflection and the lighting of candles the aim is to provide something for everyone, whatever their background or beliefs.”

Anyone wishing to dedicate a light to a loved one can do so via the hospice website or by calling 01384 377778.
