REMEMBRANCE Sunday services and parades across Halesowen were well attended, with hundreds of people turning out to pay their respects.
Military men and women, were joined by dignitaries, politicians, community members and groups for events in Halesowen and Cradley, among others, on Sunday November 14, to mark the first Remembrance event since 2019, as Covid put a stop to commemorations last year.
Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP turned out to pay his respects along with Cradley's MP Suzanne Webb who described the commemorative events remembering Britain's war dead as "poignant".
She said: "As the Second World War inevitably recedes from our collective experience, it is more important than ever we remember the sacrifice of the ‘Finest Generation’ before those memories are lost.
"We must also always recognise the service and sacrifice from other conflicts too such as Korea, Northern Ireland, The Falklands and Iraq and Afghanistan to name but a few of the places our brilliant armed forces have served with such distinction to keep us safe in this century and the last."
