BLACK Country Brownies, Guides and Rainbows have added a touch of 'Strictly' sparkle to their fundraising for BBC Children in Need.

1st Pedmore Brownies lined up a sponsored Strictly Come Dancing inspired danceathon to help raise funds for the annual appeal, which this year has partnered with Girlguiding.

As part of Children in Need's 'Get Your Strictly On' fundraiser, the girls vowed to try to ‘keeeep dancing’ non-stop for the whole of their Brownie meeting today (Tuesday November 16) to try to raise as much money as possible, with awards ceremony scheduled at the end, celebrating the 'best dressed' and 'most energetic' dancers.

Meanwhile, the 3rd Blackheath Guide and Rainbow units in Rowley Regis will both be completing fundraising challenges.

The Guide unit will host a family quiz on Thursday November 18 to challenge family members on their general knowledge, and the Rainbow unit will be decorating Smartie tubes into colourful Strictly Come Dancing dancers and asking friends and family to help fill up the tubes with loose change.

All money raised through the partnership between BBC Children in Need and Girlguiding will be split equally between the two organisations and will help to make a difference to young lives across the UK.

To mark the challenge, Girlguiding has launched a BBC Children in Need 2021 Pudsey badge and new Strictly-inspired sparkly hair scrunchies featuring Pudsey which are available to buy from Girlguiding’s website or through local Girlguiding units, priced £1.50 for the badge and £6 for the hair scrunchies.
