A PROPOSAL to build new council houses and apartments on land in Rowley Regis has been submitted to planners.
Sandwell Council wants to build homes on two parcels of land on Hawes Lane.
It wants to build seven houses, two bungalows and two two-storey apartment blocks containing six self-contained flats on the land either side of Stanford Drive.
A design and access statement states: "The aim is to expand the current council stock of housing for future generations of Sandwell residents."
It goes on: "The proposal is making use of an unused, unutilised portion of land within the borough.
"The proposal will provide additional natural surveillance to surrounding existing properties in the area.
"Landscaping will be used where feasible to provide greening of the street, with some subtle improvements to the existing to uplift and connect Hawes Lane to the proposed development."
