THE closure of a busy Halesowen road has been extended causing misery for motorists.

Grange Hill will remain closed in a southbound direction until Wednesday (November 24).

The busy road has been closed since Monday October 25 - with restrictions expected to end on Friday (November 19).

But Dudley Council said today (Monday November 22) that it will remain closed until Wednesday (November 24).

It has been closed between the A456 Manor Way and 17, Grange Hill to allow Western Power to carry out work to lay cables.

The power company started work in the road last September, but was ordered to stop by Dudley Council after temporary traffic lights on Grange Hill caused severe disruption.

The diversion is via Manor Way (westbound), Hagley Road A456, Hagley Hill A456, Birmingham Road A456, Stourbridge Road A491, Sandy Lane A491, Money Lane B4551, Bromsgrove Road B4551, and Grange Hill B4551.
