A POPULAR cocktail bar which creates eye-catching drinks which are an Instagram favourite could be coming to Worcester.

The Botanist cocktail bar is looking to open in the city's Cathedral Square with plans for live music and a late night licence.

The bar and restaurant will join popular bars and restaurants including All Bar One, Cosy Club and Ask.

The Botanist describes itself as: "A place where antiquities and trinkets hang from the walls, and resident botanists craft unusual concoctions.

"Some arrive for the live music, some for the conversation; but here at The Botanist, all can enjoy a wondrous occasion.

"Explore a secret garden of food and drink, where our Botanists have foraged high and low to bring you a host of exceptional food and drink delights... sublime social times are guaranteed!"

Favourite drinks at the nearest bar in Birmingham include The Botanist pornstar for £9.95, rhubarb and sage spritz for £8.95 and elderflower and jasmine mojito for £7.95.

Stoli vodka, passion fruit liqueur, peashoot and rose cordial, pineapple and Prosecco. Bartender Recommended.

New World Trading Company has put in an alcohol and entertainment application with Worcestershire Regulatory Services for The Botanist.

It has applied for a licence to sell alcohol from 9am to 2am Thursday to Saturday and 9am to 1am from Sunday to Wednesday.

Live music performances could also be part of the cocktail bar's plans for when it opens in Worcester.

New World Trading Company has also applied for a permit to allow live music between 9am and 2am Thursday to Saturday and 9am and 1am on Sunday to Wednesday.

It has also applied to WRS to be allowed to play recorded music during the same hours.

A request to sell late night refreshments from 11pm to 2.30am Thursday to Saturday and 11pm to 1.30am all other evenings.

The applications says the bar will be at unit 4 and 5 on Cathedral Square on teh High Street.

In the summer, it was rumoured cocktail bar The Alchemist was looking for a home on Cathedral Square but they quashed the social media rumours.
