A HALESOWEN mum has transformed her garage into a hair and beauty salon.
Gemma Lancaster has converted the garage at her home in Fulwood Avenue.
The 34-year-old, who has worked as a hairdresser since leaving school aged 16, decided to take the leap and start her own business called Gemma Lancaster Hair and Beauty.
She made the move after having her daughter Ellie, now aged one, and wanting a better home/work balance.
And it's been a real family affair as Gemma's dad Lee Lancaster did all the work to convert the salon.
He started work on the garage salon last September with it completed in December.
Gemma, who lives with her partner Daniel Smallwood, also aged 34, and their daughter Ellie, said: "I had a baby during lockdown so this seemed like a better option for a home/ work balance.
"I have worked in hairdressing since I left school aged 16.
"I decided to do beauty treatments as well so clients can get their hair, eyebrows and nails done - it's like a one stop shop.
"If they're having a treatment they can have their eyebrows done at the same time - it's just offering that little bit extra."
The salon is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am till 4pm and has its own Facebook page.
To book call Gemma on 07377 331393.
