A HALESOWEN councillor is calling for something to be done about "disgraceful" parking on grass verges which is churning them up.

Councillor Stuart Henley is concerned about the state of verges in Graham Road, Hillwood Road, Willowsbrook Road and Douglas Road.

He shared pictures of the damage caused in Graham Road and said he has contacted Dudley Council with a view to coming up with solutions.

Possible ideas include turning them into official car parking spaces or replacing grass with hard standing.

He also contacted police about a vehicle blocking the footpath.

Cllr Henley said on social media: "Disgraceful how some ruin the area for others.

"This has been reported with ideas to solve this for the future.

"Also one vehicle details parked on a grass verge and blocking the pavement passed on to the police. #togetherwecanmakeadifference."

The Halesowen North councillor said: "People use the grass verges for parking and it churns them up.

"They could be turned into car parking spaces or replaced with hard standing.

"It looks awful.

"I know we have more cars nowadays but people have to park sensibly."
