A 27-year-old Halesowen man has fulfilled his dream of opening his own pub.
Josh Wyer has opened Church View Tavern on High Street, Halesowen.
The former Earls High pupil has put his own stamp on the former Talk of the Town unit, opposite St John's Church.
Josh worked as a barman for over a year when it was Talk of the Town and said it's great to now be back as the owner.
He said: "I've wanted a pub all my life.
"I've worked in lots of pubs and I have always loved it.
"So far it's been good, we've been doing a good trade with good clientele.
"We have not had any trouble at all.
"I'm loving it."
Josh, who worked in care from the age of 18 to 24, lives in Halesowen with his mum and brothers,.
He has opened the pub with business partner Andy Cutler, aged 53.
The pub is part of the Pub Watch scheme in Halesowen which means landlords and staff can support each other by sharing details such as drinkers who are banned.
Josh has also worked closely with the Halesowen BID which has helped promote the new venue.
There are DJs and karaoke and a disco every Saturday. Church View Tavern is open every day from 10am till 11pm, apart from Fridays and Saturdays when it is open until 1am.
