NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to restaurants, cafes and pubs across the Dudley borough, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

A host of new ratings have been issued in the last month.

Those given a top five out of five rating were:

• Fry A' Tucks Café in Dudley Road, Brierley Hill, which was assessed on March 30

• Stir ADC at the Art And Design Centre in Venture Way, Brierley Hill, which was assessed on March 21

• Stir Brasserie at Discovery Way, Dudley, which was inspected on March 16

• Fliss Fancy in Commonside, Pensnett, Brierley Hill, which was rated on March 10

• Pen's Ale in Pensnett High Street, Brierley Hill, which was assessed on March 10

Flo's Coffee Shop, Windmill Hill, Cradley; The Venue in Dudley High Street, and Wordsley Tandoori, Lawnswood Road, Wordsley, all received ratings of four after being inspected on March 9.

The café at Boing Zone in Mill Race Lane, Stourbridge, was given a rating of three when inspected on March 9.

Meanwhile, popular Amblecote Indian restaurant Indiluxe received a rating of just one when inspected on that date.

The FSA rates businesses from zero to five so customers can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.

A rating of five means hygiene standards are very good, four means hygiene standards are good, three means hygiene standards are generally satisfactory, two means some improvement is necessary, a rating of one means major improvement is necessary and a rating of zero means urgent improvement is required.

People can see the results of all food hygiene inspections via Dudley Council’s website or on the national ratings.food.gov.uk website.
