The new store on Birchley Retail Park, Wolverhampton Road, will open its doors for the first time at 9am on Wednesday (May 11).

The discount retailer has transformed the former Toys ‘r’ Us store.

A new Tim Hortons drive thru restaurant on the retail park is also set to open soon.

B&M customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries including a range of food, drink and pet food.

There will also be a selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games and gifts.

The store will also boast its own 5,384sqft garden centre, selling hundreds of plant varieties and gardening essentials.

The store manager at B&M Oldbury said: “Our colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, we can’t wait to get the doors open and show customers their brand new B&M store.”

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community.

They have chosen the team from Smethwick Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store on opening day.

Smethwick Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in Oldbury, they provide three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in crisis.

The store manager added: “Smethwick Foodbank charity really stood out for us so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done, especially during the pandemic.

"We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work."

Smethwick Foodbank is a part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
