NEW council houses look set to be built on an area of green space in Rowley Regis.
Sandwell Council wants to build six houses on land at Highams Close.
An application for six four-bedroom homes has been submitted to planners at the council.
It states that the vacant land is currently used as public open space.
It goes on to say that "historic maps" show there was once terraced houses and industrial structures on the land, but that these had been cleared by 1992.
