A CRADLEY man has been given a suspended prison sentence after admitting assaulting a woman.
Stephen James, of Severn Road, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm after an incident on June 18, 2021.
The 40-year-old was given a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months, and told to comply with a 24-month period of supervision including participating in a building better relationships programme and complying with a rehabilitation activity requirement.
Magistrates also made him the subject of a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting his victim.
He was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £128 and to pay £185 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service when sentenced at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday May 30.
