A TALENTED Halesowen College lecturer is celebrating after one of her paintings went on display in the Home Office.

Angelina Davis's painting Blue Elms which was selected for Bloomberg Contemporaries in 2021 and showed at First Site Colchester and South London Gallery has been acquired by the Government art collection and is now on display in the Home Office.

It's an exciting time for Angeline as she is holding her first solo painting exhibition since 1998 `Coming Up For Air’ at the Oxmarket Gallery in Chichester showing a large body of painting produced over the last four years.

Angelina’s work looks at the rural landscape of her childhood with large scale staged landscapes that pose questions about identity, belonging and Englishness.

She said: “I have always felt that by continuing with my own practice as an artist whilst lecturing I have been able to use the experience to give learners insights into the rewards and hard work involved in pursuing a creative career.”

Angelina has worked at Halesowen College for 15 years. She lectures in Art and Design.
