A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a 20-year-old man was set on fire at a Dudley petrol station.
The victim, aged 20, remains in a serious condition in hospital after the fire on the forecourt of Texaco service station on Himley Road, Gornal Wood, at around 7pm on Thursday, June 2.
Stephen Burden, aged 30, of Wilkinson Road, Wednesbury, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court yesterday (Monday June 13) charged with attempted murder.
He was remanded into police custody until a hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on July 11.
He was one of two men, both aged 30, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after they both attended separate police stations in the West Midlands.
The second man was questioned and released on police bail, with conditions, as police enquiries continue.
