NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 10 of Dudley’s eateries, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The following ratings have been given to two restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: David Lloyd Club in Pensnett Road, Brockmoor, Brierley Hill, which was inspected on June 14.

• Rated 1: Indus Express in Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston, which was inspected on May 4.

Two new ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: The Koyla Kitchen in Thorns Road, Quarry Bank, after an inspection on June 15.

• Rated 1: Hilly House in Himley Road, Dudley, which was inspected on May 18.

Six new ratings have been given to takeaways:

• Rated 5: Penny's Fish Bar in Long Lane, Halesowen, which was inspected on June 21.

• Rated 5: Sunrise in Priory Road, Dudley, after an inspection on June 21.

• Rated 5: Top 1 Pizza, also trading as Beef Belly Grill House, New Street, Dudley, which was inspected on June 15.

• Rated 3: Five Star Fish Bar in Baptist End Road, Netherton, which was inspected on May 16.

• Rated 1: Golden Oriental in Louise Street, Lower Gornal, which was inspected on May 12.

• Rated 1: Spice Village in High Street, Lye, which was inspected on April 26.

The ratings have been published on the Food Standards Agency’s website which rates businesses from zero to five so customers can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.

A rating of five means hygiene standards are very good, four means hygiene standards are good, three means hygiene standards are generally satisfactory, two means some improvement is necessary, a rating of one means major improvement is necessary and a rating of zero means urgent improvement is required.
