DUDLEY’S Showcase Cinema is among movie theatres giving away free tickets to redheads today so they can escape the heat on the UK’s hottest day on record.
With temperatures having topped 39ºC today (Tuesday July 19), with the possibility of soaring to 42ºC, the cinema chain is allowing redheads free entry to see a movie at the Castlegate cinema complex to escape the sweltering heat.
A spokesperson for the cinema chain said: “Since redheads are often more vulnerable than most to the sun’s rays, we're giving them shelter from the sun inside our fully air conditioned cinema screens to catch the latest blockbusters for no cost at all!
“If you've got red hair, grab a free ticket from the cinema box office, get yourself an ICEE and keep cool at Showcase.”
The offer is only valid for today (Tuesday July 19) at the cinema box office only and tickets are limited to one per transaction per day for guests with red hair.
