A LONG-SERVING Halesowen and Rowley Regis garage owner is passing his business down to his twin sons after 50 years in the driving seat.

Trevor Kelleher, who owns Drive in Autocentres on Overened Road, Halesowen and Causeway, Rowley Regis, has run the businesses for five decades.

He has handed the baton down to twin sons Chris and Dave, who are running his Rowley Regis and Halesowen sites respectively.

By keeping things in the Kelleher family, motorists will continue to benefit from the same personal service and expert advice that has kept the business going strong, despite the challenges posed by coronavirus.

Trevor said: “I might be a little biased, but Chris and Dave are great lads and have that attention to detail and personal touch that you need to be successful.

"We have partnered with First Stop for a number of years now and while the last 12 to 18 months have been a challenge, we have been able to grow, thanks to a lot of hard work and a loyal customer base which we never take for granted."

Despite being twin brothers, Trevor said that the 32-year-olds are both very different in many ways, but their skills complement one-another perfectly.

He said: “Chris’s mind-set is more tyre related, while Dave has always been more drawn to the mechanical side of our work, which is a good job as we specialise in both!

“It was never my intention to get them to follow in my footsteps, but the industry came calling for them I think, and they have both put their heart and soul into it.

"They make me very proud.”

The garages have been partnered with First Stop for 30 years. They were two of the first independent garages to incorporate the First Stop name.

Drive In Autocentres has also opened new body shop adjacent to its Rowley centre, specialising in accident and repair work.
