TWO 17-year-old boys have been jailed for over 15 years for robberies across Wolverhampton.

One was sent to prison for eight years and six months. The other for seven years.

Working together, they carried out a series of robberies around Wolverhampton in August 2021.

They targeted men walking alone and threatened them with a handgun or made a threat that they were carrying a weapon.

The pair, both from Bilston, who can’t be named due to their age, were eventually arrested in August 2021 and charged with robbery and possessing a firearm with intent to cause violence.

On February 17 they were found guilty after a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court and the pair were sentenced last Wednesday (July 27).

Detective Constable Joanna Harris from West Midlands Police said: “These young men caused great distress for many men around Wolverhampton.

“It is not acceptable for anyone not to feel safe on our streets and we continue to work hard to ensure people are safe.”
