A RUGBY-playing Halesowen schoolboy has donated his long locks to the Little Princess Trust.
Guy Toddington, who plays for Old Halesonians, grew his hair over lockdown and decided it was time for the chop as he starts at Earls High in September.
The 11-year-old who has just left Tenterfields Primary, has donated his locks to the trust which makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other conditions.
Guy lives on The Crescent, Cradley Heath, with mum Sue, dad Garry, older brother Max, 17 and sister Gabrielle aged 13.
He's also raised more than £700 for the charity through his JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/guy-toddington.
Mum Sue, age 47, said: "Guy grew his hair in lockdown - before that he'd always been short-back and sides.
"My niece had leukaemia - she's in her 30s now and healthy but it's something he's known about.
"He's such a nice and caring child.
"We thought it was quite funny at first as it's something girls usually do, but he's raised more than £700.
"He's one on his own - he likes drama and rugby!
"I'm really proud of him as it was a big thing to get his hair cut - he's become known for his hair all across Halesowen."
Guy had his hair cut for free by Kyri's Barbers on Hagley Road, Halesowen.
