FOUR people have been hurt after an elderly driver crashed into a parked car, flipping his vehicle onto its roof.

The crash happened in Winchcombe Drive, Blackpole, Worcester this afternoon at 12.10pm.

Dangerous driver rams police car during high speed chase

Witnesses described hearing a loud bang as a car containing an elderly couple hit a parked Audi before flipping onto its roof.

A boy described seeing the car flip over and later saw fire crews fighting to extricate a woman from inside the car.

Witnesses described two fire engines, two ambulances and numerous police cars at the scene.

The elderly driver was described as having cuts and bruises to his arms and legs.

A workman was believed to be inside a parked Audi when it was hit by the other car, suffering injuries to his leg and back.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two crews attended the scene.

He added: "The incident involved four vehicles, one of which was on its roof.

"There were four casualties, one of which had self-extricated before the arrival of the fire service, another female casualty was medically trapped and was extricated from her vehicle by fire service personnel.  

"Three casualties were handed over to the ambulance service who attended along with the police. The car which was on its roof was righted and removed from the highway.

"The incident was marked as pending closure at 2pm."
