A DRIVER had to be helped out of his car by firefighters after crashing into a van in Halesowen.

The man was rescued after the car he was driving crashed into the back of a van in Stourbridge Road on Friday August 5 at 1.27am.

Fire crews from Brierley Hill and Haden Cross attended as well as an ambulance.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "The incident involved a car which had collided into the back of a van.

"A male driver was assisted out of the vehicle by firefighters and was assessed at the scene by West Midlands Ambulance paramedics, who were in attendance.

"He is not believed to have suffered any injuries.

"Our crews made the vehicles and scene safe and the incident was left in the care of West Midlands Police. "

Fire crews left the scene at 2am.
