DUDLEY Zoo and Castle is set to celebrate its carnivorous inhabitants in a fun-filled ‘Teeth, Claws and Jaws’ event this half term.

Visitors young and old will be able to discover more about some of the meat-eating species at the zoo, from meerkats to big cats in the event, running from February 18 to 26, which will include a daily programme of talks.

Marketing manager, Andrea Hales, marketing manager at the Castle Hill attraction, said: “We hope visitors will join us during the school holiday, when they can learn more and get closer to some of the rarest animals in the world as well as hearing about our important conservation work with exotic species around the globe.”

Across the site visitors will be able to discover how much food the zoo’s carnivores including tigers, lynx, sea lion and wolverine can devour in one sitting and take part in a paw-trail by looking for giant spray-painted paws outside enclosures.

Guests will also be able to measure themselves up against a silhouettes of carnivore species and take part in carnivore focused activities and crafts running each day in the Discovery Centre from midday until 1pm and from 2pm to 3pm.

People will also be challenged to see if they can jump as high as a snow leopard or a binturong in a bell-ringing game.
