Staff at Gower Gardens Care Home wanted to make Easter special for the families of sick children being treated at Birmingham Hospital.
They appealed to their colleagues and residents’ families to donate Easter eggs and there was soon an impressive chocolate “mountain” in the home’s reception.
Holly Payne, hospitality manager at the Kingsley Healthcare-run home in Kent Road, Halesowen, said: “Our activities coordinator Anne Marie Edkins and I were thrilled with the generous response.
“Easter is all about family time and we wanted to make it special for the families staying at Birmingham House, the Ronald McDonald House attached to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”
Holly and Anne Marie made their special delivery to Birmingham House, which was built specially to house parents and siblings of children being treated in hospital.
Justine Davies, who works for the charity, said: “I would like to say thank you for a wonderfully generous Easter gift which our families will most definitely enjoy over the next few days.”
