A MAN was left with serious injuries following a suspected road rage attack in Sandwell yesterday (Tuesday August 8).

West Midlands Police have appealed for information following the incident which saw a motorist in his 50s taken to hospital after being punched several times by another man.

Police said it’s understood a minor collision between a Honda Civic and Ford Transit in Park Lane, Wednesbury, happened at around 1.15pm after which the driver of the Honda was confronted by a man from the Transit and punched several times, while another person from the Transit is believed to have taken the victim’s car.

The victim, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries following the incident.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said the man “remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital” and they added: “We're carrying out enquiries to identify who was responsible and anyone with information is asked to contact us.”
