A CRADLEY and Wollescote Green Party campaigner has jumped ship to join the Liberal Democrats.

Kash Khan, aged 44, who has twice represented the party at the ballot box, announced he was switching his allegiances on Facebook.

He said: "It is clear to me that in Cradley and Wollescote, there is only one party that can take on Labour and demand a fair deal for our community, and that is the Liberal Democrats."

Recently-elected Liberal Democrat councillor for the ward, Ryan Priest, said: “Kash Khan is a fantastic campaigner and an absolute community loyalist. I’m thrilled to have him join the Lib Dem team.

Cllr Priest, who won his seat in a by-election on August 3 which was held after the shock death of stalwart Labour councillor Richard Body, now has ambitions to expand his party’s standing on Dudley Council.

All seats across on the council will be up for grabs in the next local election in May 2024.
