BUSINESSES across Halesowen were honoured for their hard work and dedication to the town at an awards ceremony.
The Halesowen Business Awards 2023, hosted by Halesowen BID, were held at the B63 Bistro at Halesowen College on Thursday (October 28).
Mat McSwiggan compèred with VIPs including The Mayor of Dudley Cllr Andrea Goddard and MP James Morris present.
The newcomer of The Year award, acknowledging the hard work and dedication that goes into starting a new business, was awarded to Peter Hunt of Money Watch Finance.
Attendees heard that Peter "is more than just a financial expert; he is a community leader who embodies the values of dedication, selflessness, and service."

Employee of the Year recognising hard-working individuals who go above and beyond went to Megan Mclaughlin of Dancers.
Mat said: "Megan embodies the very essence of hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence."

Manager of The Year was awarded to Tracey Nicholls of Workoutz gym who "has dedicated herself to creating events that bring our community together, fostering a sense of belonging and unity."

Entrepreneur of The Year went to Rhianne Yafai of the Olde Queens Head, Bee Creative & The Craft House.
Mat said "she has not only revitalised the Olde Queens Head but has also reignited a sense of family-friendly warmth within its walls. Her vision and leadership have turned a beloved establishment into a welcoming haven for families and individuals alike."

The Tony Billingham Community Impact Award in memory of the stalwart businessman was won by Dave Dancer who is "affectionately known to many as "Mr. Halesowen" and who "invests his time and effort in keeping our streets clean and safe, often being the first on the scene whenever trouble arises."

Winners were selected through a shortlisting process with final selections made by a small panel of judges.
Mat said to the gathered businesses: "We have had another huge response from people across the borough and we never tire reading about all of the wonderful things your customers and your peers have to say about you and the businesses you run."
The awards are in their second year.
