A "truly exceptional" Halesowen teacher has won an award for excellence.

Leasowes High teacher Stuart Chatterton has been awarded the prestigious James Dyson Foundation's ‘Excellence Award for Outstanding D&T Teacher.’

Mr Chatterton is head of design and technology at the school on Kent Road.

A spokesperson for the school said Stuart is a "truly exceptional educator" and "possesses a remarkable ability to inspire his students, consistently elevating their academic outcomes and upholding the highest standards of education."
