A WORKER has died after an incident at a Halesowen manufacturing firm.
The man died on Friday (December 8) after sustaining injuries while working at Somers Forge on Prospect Road in Halesowen.
Police and medics were called to the firm at 7.15pm.
Officers from West Midlands Police are working to establish what happened and the Health and Safety Executive is "making enquiries."
A police force spokesperson said: "We were called after a man sustained serious injuries at an industrial unit off Prospect Road, Halesowen.
"The man who was working at the site was taken to hospital but sadly died.
"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this devastating time.
"Enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed."
A HSE spokesperson said: “We are aware of the incident and are making enquiries.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service and Somers Forge have been contacted for comment.
Somers Forge, a family firm founded in 1697, is a manufacturer for the shipping and marine industries.
The company operates in the defence, marine, power generation and oil, gas, and nuclear sectors.
