WETHERSPOON boss Sir Tim Martin gave the thumbs up to hardworking staff at venues in the Black Country during a whistle-stop tour of pubs in the region.
Sir Tim visited JD Wetherspoon pubs including The Chequers Inn in Stourbridge, The Full Moon in Dudley, The Cross Inn at Kingswinford, The Clifton at Sedgley and The Waterfront Inn and The Abraham Darby in Brierley Hill on Wednesday December 27 and others including The Britannia in Blackheath on Thursday December 28.
The company founder and chairman, who was knighted in the New Year Honours, spent two days calling on pubs in the region just after Christmas and was reportedly pleased with what he saw.
He praised the atmosphere, presentation and service standards at a number of venues and was pleased to note the Dudley and Sedgley boozers have been featured in the Good Beer Guide.
Sir Tim said: “I love to visit the pubs and chat with staff and customers.
“Our pubs in the Black Country are an important part of the overall success of the business and it is always a pleasure to visit them.”
