POLICE were out in Halesowen cracking down on speeding and careless motorists after residents raised concerns.

Officers from the Halesowen neighbourhood team were on Manor Way yesterday (Monday January 29) running checks on vehicles using specialist equipment after people living in the area complained.

They seized one car which had no insurance and issued around 12 tickets for offences including illegal tints and drivers not wearing seatbelts.

A spokesperson for force said it was "responding to concerns from residents about speeding and careless driving on Manor Way."

They added: "Road safety continues to be a priority for us and partners including Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), local authorities and the region’s Police and Crime Commissioner.

"We joined forces under the Operation Triton banner last year to pledge action to reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured on our roads and this work continues.

"While we actively patrol key areas, we can’t be everywhere at once so we urge responsible motorists to prioritise road safety to help in preventing accidents and protecting lives.

"We also encourage residents and road users alike to report any instances of dangerous driving to us."
