A 61-year-old man has been jailed for historic sex offences in Dudley during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Brian Bottley abused a young child when he was a teenager.
He has been jailed for five years after he was found guilty of the offences, against a young girl in Dudley.
Police began investigating Bottley when the survivor bravely came forward years later to tell them about the abuse.
He was arrested in 2020, but denied everything in interview, calling the allegations lies and trying to suggest she couldn't possibly remember what had happened.
Despite this, detectives built a strong case against the 61-year-old, resulting in him being jailed on March 19, for five years.
Bottley, of Wolverhampton, will also be on the sex offenders register for life.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We would urge anyone who knows or thinks they have suffered sexual abuse in the past to contact us and tell us your story.
"In doing so you could secure justice for yourself and others.
"We have a dedicated team of officers who investigate non-recent sexual offences.
"They treat all cases seriously and will investigate any reports they receive."
