A TEENAGER has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of burglary after police pursued a stolen car in Sandwell.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Broadmoor Avenue, Oldbury, at around 8pm on Wednesday April 3 after a car and foot chase.
Officers first spotted a suspicious vehicle in Smethwick and it eventually came to a stop in Oldbury, where the occupants fled – with police in hot pursuit.
The car is believed to have been stolen from Netherton a few days ago.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said of the incident: “We acted on information around a suspicious vehicle in Smethwick which made off from officers.
“Following a pursuit the vehicle came to a stop in Oldbury and the occupants fled.
“After a foot chase a 16-year-old boy was arrested in Broadmoor Avenue, Oldbury, at around 8pm.
“It was established the car had been stolen during a car key burglary in Netherton on Sunday (March 31).
The teenager was taken into police custody for questioning but has since been bailed while enquiries continue.
