A SEMI-detached house in Dudley is set for major changes when it is converted into four flats.

Dudley Council planners have approved an application to extend the building  on Dixons Green Road and convert it into new self-contained units.

The house would be extended at the side to add extra floor space which would provide room for three one-bedroom flats and a further two-bedroom flat.

Council officers concluded there would be no issues with parking because the site would have four spaces and no letters of objection were received during a public consultation on the plan.

Proposals to convert a disused retail unit above two shops in Netherton into a pair of new flats have been refused.

Planners accepted a recommendation from council officers to reject the scheme, they concluded the flats would be too small and not provide adequate living accommodation.

The application, for conversion of the unit on Halesowen Road which is currently used for storage, attracted three letters of objection from people living in houses at the rear of the property.

Objectors raised concerns about the impact of new homes on their privacy as well as parking problems related to a bus stop outside the existing shops.

Planners have thrown out an application for a new house on Dennis Hall Road in Amblecote after dismissing it as ‘garden grabbing’.

The plan was a new version of an application in 2020 which had been refused.

The new proposal was for a two-bedroom detached house on land next to an existing house.

Planners ruled the property’s ‘excessive proportions’ and inadequate subdivision from the host property would result in cluttered alterations that would be detrimental to the street scene.

Dudley Council planners are being asked to approve two new homes at the end of a cul-de-sac in Kingswinford.

The application is for two semi-detached houses on land next to an existing property in Honeysuckle Avenue.

The proposed new houses would be two-storey, two-bedroom homes which would be traditional in design and appearance.
