A darts sensation made a special appearance at pubs in Stourport last night.

World Darts Championship finalist Luke Littler delighted staff and customers when he visited The Port House on Bridge Street.

The talented 17-year-old is said to have enjoyed a glass of Diet Coke as he caught up with friends and played a game of pool.

Marketing Director for Davenport, Katie McPhilimey, said: "He visited The Port House last night to meet up with friends. Both staff and customers alike were delighted to see him and he enjoyed a game of pool whilst with us.

"The Port House is due to undergo a huge refurbishment which will see it transformed into a Davenports My Local pub which means The Port House will soon boast giant media screens to watch all the sports channels, more pool tables and a darts board.

"We'd love to welcome him back then, he could christen the darts board for us with a perfect 180 no doubt."

The staff also said that Littler was a lovely person and chatted with the customers and fans who approached him.

Littler, who was dressed in a cap to try and go unnoticed, also made a surprise appearance at The Rising Sun Inn on Lombard Street with his visit sparking huge reactions from fans and residents on social media.

The team at The Rising Sun Inn said Littler was really "humble" and "down to earth" as he popped into the pub with his friends.

They said: "Luke came to Stourport to meet up with friends. He went for a meal at Severn Tandoori and then popped into the Rising Sun just to say hi as his friends are locals. He's a fantastic guy, very humble and extremely down to earth."

Fan Leigh Keeble, aged 34, added: "It’s always great to see such big names in our small town."
