A PUPPY had to be freed by firefighters after getting his head stuck in a wall.
Jeremy the Beagle got trapped in a garden wall at his home in Farndale Close, Brierley Hill, this morning, after 10am.
The four-month-old had been stuck in the wall for thirty minutes when his owner called firefighters for help.
Four minutes after being mobilised, Watch Manager Brett Mortimer, from Stourbridge Fire Station, and his team were at the scene.
They freed Jeremy using "manual manipulation" in one minute.
Brett said: “We deal with all manner of incidents and a job like this is about quick-thinking and care of the animal.
“It only took us around a minute to release Jeremy.
"We wrapped a protective cover around his head and ears, and freed him using manual manipulation.
“I’m proud of my team, who showed quick-thinking to help an animal in distress.
"Despite his ordeal, Jeremy is said to be doing well at home.
"There was no obvious sign of injury, and he was in good spirits when we left the scene.”
The crew recommended his owner take him to the vets for a check-up.
