A MAN has been arrested and a knife seized after police received reports of a man armed with a weapon.
The 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article and is in custody for questioning.
Reports of a man armed with a weapon near Smethwick High Street had been received at around 6pm yesterday (Monday June 10)
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We've seized a knife and made an arrest after acting on information in Smethwick.
"We received a report of a man armed with a weapon at just after 6pm yesterday (10 June).
"We promptly responded and stopped a man just off the High Street.
"We recovered a knife and arrested a 20-year-old on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.
"He remains in custody for questioning."
