A LONG-RUNNING Halesowen motorcycle dealership has ceased trading - with administrators brought in.
Streetbike, on Dudley Road, ceased trading on Friday June 28 with around 20 staff losing their jobs.
The news has come as a blow as the dealership is one of the longest serving in the country - having started trading in 1984.
It began life at a showroom on King Street in Dudley, where it was located for 15 years, before moving to Mucklow Hill in Halesowen, where it was based for 15 years, before moving to its current base on Dudley Road.
The move to a huge showroom on Dudley Road involved a £3million investment.
A spokesperson for Triumph UK said: "Triumph can confirm that the Birmingham West (Streetbike) dealership ceased trading on Friday, 28 June.
"We understand that Poppleton & Appleby have been appointed to manage proceedings.
"Any Triumph customers who have enquiries with which they require further assistance are encouraged to email after.sales@triumph.co.uk.
"Triumph will do our upmost to support customers of Triumph Birmingham West through this period and will look to reinstate local representation for the brand as soon as possible."
Streetbike sold new and pre-owned motorcycles and carried out servicing, MOTs and repairs It also sold clothing, accessories and ran a helmet-fitting service.
Its 20 staff had 200 combined years service at Streetbike, which had won 10 international awards and had served more than 55,000 customers.
