A MAN who was wanted for domestic assault jumped into the canal in a desperate attempt to get away from police.
The man ran off through gardens and then tried to cross the canal, but his escape attempt was thwarted by Dudley police and he was arrested and taken into custody.
West Midland Police's Eye in the Sky drones unit helped out on the job and posted on X: "Wanted offender for domestic assault made a run for it over gardens.
"Their attempt to escape cross the canal didn't go as planned!
"One in custody.
"Well done @DudleyTownWMP #dronesforgood."
