A HALESOWEN shop has supported its local community by donating £5k to a youth club.
Nisa Local Hurst Green has handed over the huge amount to Halesowen North Youth Club, which is run by councillor Stuart Henley.
The shop on Woodbury Road is managed by Amritpal Singh Kang and Rajveer Singh Kang, locally known as Bobby and Raj.
They said: “The Halesowen North Youth Club provides a safe space for young people to learn, grow, and thrive, and we are delighted to contribute to their ongoing success.
“Working alongside Stuart Henley has been a fantastic experience, and we are excited to see how this donation will help enhance the club’s activities and facilities.
“We remain committed to supporting local causes and fostering partnerships that truly make a difference in the lives of our community members.
“We will be continuing our support with many more exciting projects in the near future.
“Thank you to all our friends/customers whose continued support enables us to give back in such meaningful ways."
This donation was made possible through the support of the shop’s charity partner, Making a Difference Locally, whose commitment to supporting local communities aligns with the store.
Stuart, who is club chairman, attended a presentation at the shop.
He said: "We recently submitted an application for funding to support the youth club, and I am delighted to announce that our efforts have been rewarded with a generous grant of £5,000.
"This funding will be allocated in two instalments, and the committee is understandably thrilled with this outcome.
"This financial support will allow us to organise various activities and events for our young members, including a visit to a pantomime, a festive Christmas party, and much more."
The Halesowen North Youth Club is open to eight to 11-year-olds and runs on Mondays from 6pm until 7.30pm at Coombswood Sports and Social Club. It costs £1 per visit.
Anyone who would like to attend or volunteer can e mail hnyouthclubb62@gmail.com or call or text Stuart on 07967 142367.
