The Grove has once again been a hive of activity this week following the arrival another new signing, the addition of a major sponsor plus the release of the fixture list.

Halesowen Town will kick-off their BGB Premier Division campaign on Saturday August 16 with a home game against Tiverton Town.

They will then face back to back away games starting with Rugby Town on Tuesday August 19 and Bashley on Saturday August 23.

The Yeltz will kick-off 2009 with a bang when they welcome newly promoted Stourbridge to the Grove on New Years Day.

Town will then travel across the borough to the War Memorial on Monday April 13 for the reverse fixture.

What many bookmakers are tipping to be a promotion winning season will finish with an away trip to Merthyr Tydfil on Saturday April 25.

One player who will be taking a keen interest in the fixture list is new signing Dean Smith.

The 21-year-old has been snapped up by manager Morrell Maison from League Two new boys Aldershot Town where he helped them to win promotion.

The right back made over 70 appearances for the Shots after joining them from Chelsea in 2006.

Maison has also been able to make a major signing off the field after coming to an agreement with Birmingham-based Projects 2000 to be one of the club’s main sponsors.

The five-figure deal is a significant step forward for the club according to Maison.

He said: “Sponsorship in various different guises is a necessary and important ingredient in the business of a football club.

“Project 2000 delivered a positive response to our request.

“ In a difficult climate, the deal is a very welcome one from the clubs point of view.”

Michael Harris, spokesman for Projects 2000, said:”We are proud to be associated with Halesowen Town Football Club and privileged to respond to their board’s approach to support their position.”

The club’s pre-season schedule is now in full swing.

They kicked-off with a 1-0 win away at Cradley Town on Saturday courtesy of a Dean Brennan penalty although the game was soured with the sending off of Ludovic Quistan.

The Yeltz have also added a new friendly to their schedule with USA-based Trident FC stopping off at the Grove this Saturday.

The game against the semi-professional outfit will kick-off at 3pm and entry will be £3 for adults and £1 concessions.

Maison will then take his charges to the Victoria Ground next Tuesday to face Bromsgrove Rovers (7.30pm)
