Mohawks and safety pins were given a fresh twist when art students at Heathfield Foundation Technology College organised a punk-inspired fashion show as part of their course.
The “Punk Rock Recycled” fashion show, held at the Cradley Heath college on July 10, featured clothes designed using only recycled materials such as old t-shirts and random fabric offcuts.
The show was organised by sixth former students Vicky Holden, Krisha Chavda and Jessica Andrews, all aged between 17 and 18, as part of their BTEC Silver Art Award.
Clothes were modelled by Year 10 students with punk-themed hair and make-up by the college’s exclusive beauty salon “The Classroom”.
Art teacher Emma Lawrence said she was proud of the work the students had put into the show.
She added: “The clothes were all fabulous and received rounds of applause from the audience.”
