The Black Country Chamber's first Friday breakfast event will be staged next month.

Held at Himley Country Hotel in Dudley on Friday September 5, it will bring together Ian Pearson, Labour MP for Dudley South, Margot James, Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Stourbridge and councillor Dave Tyler, the Liberal Democrat leader on Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.

They are expected to have a lively discussion about what is good about the Black Country and what can be done to improve it.

Dudley Chamber president Mike Dell said: “Even though the next general election could be as far as 18 months away, people are still interested to hear what the three main political parties have to offer and what their thoughts are for the region.

“We’re going to pose the question, ‘what would you do if you were King of the Black Country for a day?’ and hopefully it should provoke some interesting answers and a lively debate.

“This event will allow our members to get up close to them, make their own suggestions and make it clear the business community in this area is still thriving.”

The breakfast event will start at 7am. Entrance costs £17 for members and £34 for non-members. For details or to book a place call Penny Griffiths on 0845 872 4283 or e-mail events@blackcountrychamber.co.uk.
