HALESOWEN Town will be looking to put a week of controversy behind them as they look ahead to the visit of Gainsborough Trinity in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Yeltz will be hoping to book a place in the third qualifying round when they welcome the Blue Square North side to the Grove.

Manager Morell Maison will be hoping football will be the talk of the terraces, after it was confirmed by Wiltshire Police they are investigating an alleged incident between him and star striker Dean Brennan following last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Chippenham Town.

The boss is expecting a tough test against a side plying their trade in a league above themselves.

He said: “Having managed in that division in the past as well as keeping a close eye on life in the Blue Square North I know we will be facing a good all round side.

“They will be a well-drilled and strong unit who will bring with them that higher league intensity.”

The cup clash from which will the winners pocket £4,500, may see new signing Daren Dykes make his home debut.

The right winger was snapped up from Rugby Town on Tuesday and made his first start for the Yeltz in their penalty shoot-out win at Sutton Coldfield Town in the GX Cup.

Dykes is set to challenge Daryl Taylor for the wide right berth although it remains unclear whether Taylor will still be a Town player come Saturday.

The former Walsall and Tamworth player has received seven-day approaches from Hinckley United and Hednesford Town.

Out of favour Mark Danks has also been eyed up by rival clubs.

Redditch United and Worcester City have enquired about the enigmatic forward but the club confirmed they had no plans to let him go.

One player who will not be part of Saturday’s plans is Curtis Ujah.

The centre half was released by the club after Saturday’s defeat at Chippenham following a string of poor performances.
