After watching the football game between Halesowen Town FC and Rugby Town FC on Saturday, January 24, I would like the Halesowen team players to know the majority of the fans do not blame them for the defeat.

This result is due to one man’s decision, Morell Maison. I think Morrell Maison needs to answer questions. We know Justin Rowe has tendonitis, so why was he on the pitch for 5 minutes?

Was it because the newly signed centre forward was not at the ground to be named on the team sheet except as a substitute.

Was Jack Alward in the team because there were only 2 subs on the bench? Jack seemed to have a problem from the beginning.

Why was there no substitute for Erik when the team came out for the second half? This meant Halesowen were a 10 man team for 45 minutes. These players played their hearts out and were completely shattered at 90 minutes.

For a team of Halesowen’s calibre and the league that they are in, the manager is responsible for the decision. It is no good blaming everyone – anyone but himself.

With all the publicity that is around in the press at the moment, it is the good name of HTFC that is being branded as the problem. When you think of all the hardwork that has taken place by Harry Rudge, past Chairmen, the background staff, volunteers – mainly fans, during the close season, to put this great club where it is now, it is slowly being undone.

With all the issues that are being made public, I fear for Halesowen Town FC, a renowned non-league club, who have great fans, the club I have supported for many years.
