A football signed by the Wolves team and a luxury hamper are just two of the items going under the hammer at auction during the mayor’s ball this month.

Mayor, councillor Ray Burston, is inviting people to the annual ball on March 27.

It will include an auction where prizes will be up for grabs including the signed football, bottles of wine and champagne, a DVD player and a food hamper.

Guests will also be able to tuck into a three-course meal, before a disco and other entertainment. All money raised from the event will go to the Mayor’s chosen charities.

Councillor Ray Burston, Mayor of Dudley, said: “The annual mayor’s ball is a great way of generating more money for these very worthwhile causes.

“With great auction items up for grabs too, it should be a fantastic night.”

The dinner suit and cocktail dress event takes place at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill, and will start with drinks at 7.15pm. It will be followed by dinner at 7.45pm before the entertainment which will include singers and a disco.

The annual event will raise money for the mayor’s official charities – the No Limits Community Project and Thank You, which is made up of the five armed forces charities.

Tickets are on sale until March 11 and cost £32. For bookings email christine.skelding@dudley.gov.uk or call 01384 815211.
